Aritra Roy
Hello! I’m Aritra Roy from Kolkata, India. I completed my schooling at Calcutta Boys' School,
Kolkata. From my high school days, I have had a passion for solving mathematics problems,
particularly in geometry and calculus. I enjoy approaching problems as puzzles and searching
for compact, elegant solutions.
Currently, I am in the M.Tech program at IIT
Bombay. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad in a five-year
dual-major track. My undergraduate thesis advisor was Prof. Sandipan Kumar Das. I also worked
under Prof. Antarip Poddar on electrokinetic efficiency in electroosmotic flows and completed
an S. N. Bhatt Fellowship at ICTS-TIFR under Prof. Rama Govindarajan on DNS simulations of
microplastics in oceanic flows.
My research interests include fluid mechanics, computational modeling, meshless numerical
methods, and electrokinetic systems. I also enjoy writing computational blogs, solving
riddles, playing chess, and reading crime thrillers. I am currently collaborating with Dr.
Rahil Valani (Oxford) on active particle chaos dynamics in electrokinetic systems.
